Florida Atlantic jumped out to an early 9-2 lead in the opening set and maintained its momentum throughout, taking the first set 25-12.
The Blazers responded in the second set, using a kill by Mia Reese to take an early 7-4 advantage. However, FAU answered with a 5-1 run to regain the lead before putting together a 9-1 stretch midway through the set. The Owls went on to claim the second set, 25-17.
UAB once again got off to a strong start in the third, with a Rachel McCollum kill giving the Blazers a 7-4 lead. A 5-0 run, capped by a Sydney Austin kill, extended the advantage to 13-7. After FAU battled back to even the score at 15-15, UAB responded with five consecutive points. Makayla Meister delivered the set-clinching kill as the Blazers took the third, 25-20.
