Blazers Look to Continue Momentum at Wichita State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB Softball returns to American Conference play with a three-game set at Wichita State this weekend. The Blazers (12-13, 0-3 AMER) are coming off a 9-8 comeback victory at Georgia Tech on Tuesday, hoping to ride the momentum from the upset win to their first conference victory of the season. Wichita State (11-10, 1-2 AMER) lost its opening series of American play last weekend at East Carolina. The Shockers took game one over the Pirates, but lost games two and three.
UAB is searching for its first ever series win over Wichita State, losing both prior series since UAB joined the American for the 2023-24 season.
Game one in Wichita is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 4 p.m. Start on Saturday, and a noon first pitch on Sunday.

- Wichita State has a team ERA of 4.50, with their innings-pitched leader, Ryley Nihart, sitting at a 3.71 ERA. Ava Sliger leads the team with a 2.66 ERA, but has only thrown 26.1 innings, compared to Nihart's 60.1.
