ATHENS, Ga. — UAB's Erik Olin wrapped up play Wednesday at the NCAA Athens Regional with a three-round score of 216 (+3) at the University of Georgia Golf Course. Competing as the No. 5 individual seed, Olin faced a field that included nationally ranked programs such as Auburn, Illinois and host Georgia, along with many of the nation's top individual golfers.
Olin opened the tournament Monday with a 3-over-par 74. After a difficult start to the round, he settled in and played his final 10 holes at even par, highlighted by a birdie on No. 17.
He responded in Tuesday's second round with an even-par 71, recording four birdies, including two on par-5 holes. Olin carded three birdies on the front nine before adding another on the back nine to move to 2-over-par for the tournament entering the final round.
In Wednesday's final round, Olin posted another even-par 71 to close the tournament. He recorded birdies on Nos. 8 and 16 and played the back nine at 1-under par to finish the regional at 3-over-par overall.
A transfer from USC Aiken, Olin capped an outstanding 2025-26 season as one of UAB's top performers. He entered regional play with a team-best 70.4 scoring average and multiple top-10 finishes. Olin also ranks third in program history in career stroke average, earned All-American Conference honors and was named American Conference Player of the Week in February.
