UAB Head Basketball Coach - Murry Bartow
General comments on tonight's game:
"I told the players that if we play like we did tonight we will not be above five hundred in conference play. We played good offensively and did not have many turnovers. If we play like we did tonight in the future we will win games just not as many as we would like. I don't want to deminish what we did tonight, we did allot of good things but we did not defend with the energy we need to play with. I don't think it was our best game of the year but overall we did some good things. I thought that Eric Batchelor really stepped up, it was good to see him come back and play the way he does. Jeffery Collins continues to play well. Myron Ransom had some flashes of playing the way that he is capable of playing. "
On UAB's turnovers.
"Eric Bush had zero turnovers for the game. He had been turning the ball over a good bit. I have to give credit to Matt Bowen because he had been working with Eric Bush. Matt Bowen had taken some time to make some videotapes for Eric to watch and see some of his turnovers. He has shown Eric Bush how to be a low risk instead of a high-risk player. Eric Bush had a fantastic effort tonight."
Comments on Cedric Davis and Antonae Roberson not playing:
"Cedric Davis and Antonae Roberson were both late getting back to campus from the holidays. We had practice on the twenty-sixth and they both missed practice and that is why they sat tonight.
Jackson State Head Basketball Coach - Andy Stoglin
General comments on tonight's game:
"I thought that Appleberry came out and played really well tonight. We are not going to be beat a good team on the road till be start making some shots. I thought that Cliff Walker played really well tonight. I think the new things that we have changed in our team could actually be seen tonight. We are going to be in two a day practices next week in order to get prepared for Alcorn State. It has been really tough to make the changes we have made with the team in the middle of a season. We are still a team learning in practice because we have had to change some things. All in all our guys are still thinking allot because of all the new stuff we are doing."
