TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Altron Jackson scored 23 points to lead five South Florida players in double figures as the Bulls beat UAB 81-65 Tuesday.
Will McDonald and Mike Bernard each scored 14 points for South Florida (15-7, 5-4 Conference USA). Jimmy Baxter added 13 and B.B. Waldon had 11 for the Bulls.
Antonae Roberson led UAB (10-12, 3-6) with 17 points off the bench. Will Campbell, coming off three consecutive career-high scoring performances, was limited to nine points.
Bernard scored eight unanswered points to snap a 9-all tie midway through the first half.
McDonald scored the final five points of the first half to give South Florida a 37-26 at the break.
Baxter scored back-to-back field goals as the lead peaked at 18 with less than five minutes to go.
South Florida outscored the Blazers 20-10 off turnovers en route to their fifth victory in the last six series meetings.
