Men's Basketball To Host Louisiana Tech

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB men's basketball team will play host to Louisiana Tech on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Bartow Arena. The Blazers and Bulldogs will be playing for the first time since Dec. 19, 2001 when UAB defeated La. Tech, 81-63.
The Blazers are coming off an 81-68 victory over Alabama A&M on Saturday, marking the second consecutive win for UAB. The Blazers are led by senior Mo Finley who averages 14.4 ppg; however, has not played in the last two games due to a shoulder injury. Finley is one of four Blazers to average double-digits (Gabe Kennedy, 12.0; Ronell Taylor, 11.9; Donell Taylor, 11.0). Sidney Ball leads UAB in rebounds, averaging 6.4 per game, while Carldell Johnson leads the team with 3.3 assists per contest.
Louisiana Tech enters the contest with three wins in its last four contests, including a 77-55 win over Tougaloo on Saturday. The Bulldogs are led by junior transfer Donell Allick who leads the team in points (14.1) and assists (2.7) per game. Freshman Paul Millsap has made an immediate impact, averaging a double-double, with 12.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest.
UAB (5-2) and Louisiana Tech (4-3) will be meeting for the third time in the series' history, with UAB taking each of the previous two meetings.
