UAB Head Coach Mike Anderson
On the win and the style UAB played: "This win was more like it. This is the way that we want to play and we did a good job, especially at home. I think that this was one of those games where we really came in and put on a show. As we were winning by like 25 or 30 points, I looked up into the stands and not one person was leaving. I think that shows what great fans we have and this was a big win for us."
On wearing Tulane down and the crowd's impact: "I think that the fatigue factor was big in this game. I thought that we came out with energy and we got things going the way that we wanted them to. We had a great crowd tonight. They brought us some special energy and I want to thank everyone for coming out."
On the seniors winding down their careers this year: "This was the next to last game for our seniors and I think that they came out and played with a lot of emotion. It will be nice to see our fans applaud them by coming out Wednesday night against DePaul. We need that same energy and boost from them against DePaul that we had tonight."
On Demario Eddins joining the 1,000-point club: "Well, for him to join all of those prestigious players, it just shows what kind of a player he is. He is always very difficult to guard and tonight he seemed to be even more assertive. He did a great job of getting rebounds, stick backs and he was putting it in the hole. He finished with seven rebounds for us and he did a great job of getting to the free-throw line."
Tulane Head Coach Shawn Finney
On the game: "We had a couple of turnovers the first half. We fought their full court press ... we really had them in the half-court. Then (by playing up-tempo) we were throwing it right into their hands. We've just got to get them to slow down and read the situations. We have got to learn how to focus."
On UAB's performance after halftime: "UAB definitely came out during the second half and turned it up a notch. We came out of the second half and had a couple of big turnovers and that really energized them. We used a couple of time-outs and tried to get them to settle down, but the pressure really bothered our young guys."
On the pace of the game dictating his team's performance: "We had a lot of passes that just went right into their hands. If we would have just slowed down we could have made the plan to use jump shots. We came out ready to play; we just did not maintain the focus like we needed to. You just have to keep being an aggressive basketball player."
