Saturday's Game Time Moved To 5 p.m.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Tip-off time for the UAB men's basketball game this Saturday against Cincinnati has been moved to 5 p.m. CT. to accommodate the game's live broadcast on CSTV.
The first 2,000 fans will receive a free Blazer Backpack courtesy of Verizon Wireless.
UAB enters the Cincinnati contest having won three consecutive games following a 78-72 overtime victory at Louisiana-Lafayette last Tuesday night. The Blazers and Ragin' Cajuns battled back and forth the entire game. Freshman Aaron Johnson sank two free throws with 18 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime.
Junior guard/forward Robert Vaden leads the Blazers in scoring, averaging an impressive 18.9 points a game which ranks fifth in Conference USA. He also leads the team in three-point shooting (30-of-73, 41.1 percent) and minutes played (35.1).
Sophomore Walter Sharpe, who scored 23 points and pulled down nine boards in the overtime victory, is second on the team in scoring with 15.3 points a game, while leading the team in rebounding (7.4) and blocked shots (1.6 bpg). Junior forward Reggie Huffman is second on the team in rebounding (6.6 rpg) and third in scoring (10.1 ppg). Furthermore, the Birmingham, Ala. native has hit 37-of-45 shots from the floor and ranks second in Conference USA in field goal percentage (.822).
As a team, the Blazers are averaging 48.6 percent shooting from the floor and 37.0-percent from three-point range. Despite a 5-3 record, the Blazers are outscoring their opponents by 9.6 points a game (74.2-64.6).
Like UAB, Cincinnati enters Saturday's contest on a three-game win streak. However, Saturday's contest is the Bearcat's first road game of the 2007-08 campaign. UC has opened the season with six home games, most recently topping South Carolina Upstate, 69-57, on Nov. 26.
The Bearcats are led by sophomore guard Deonta Vaughn, who is averaging a team-best 17.8 points and 5.7 assists per contest. He is also shooting 44.7 percent from the floor and 42.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Freshman center Adam Hrycaniuk is the only other Bearcat to average double-figure scoring, contributing 10.8 ppg, while also grabbing 6.3 rebounds a contest. Senior forward John Williamson leads the team with 7.7 rebounds a game, and is third on the team in scoring, with 9.2 ppg.
As a team, the Bearcats are shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and 34.1 percent from deep.
