BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - More than 4,000 fans filled Bartow Arena on Dec. 4 to watch the UAB men's basketball team pull away for a 91-48 victory against Alabama A&M. While the Blazers provided excitement on the floor, Blazer fans were providing entertainment for children in the Birmingham area this holiday season as 150 toys were donated by fans at the game's Holiday Toy Drive benefiting Toys for Tots.
"This was a great night for not only UAB, but for the city of Birmingham," head coach Mike Davis said. "We have some terrific fans and for them to give back to our city speaks for itself. We got a victory and we were able to help children during the holiday season, which is more important than anything. I am pleased that this night was a success and fans were able to support our program and our city."
The Blazers will next be in action Dec. 22 when they travel to play Wichita State and 7:05 p.m.
