BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The American Conference announced the 2026-27 men's basketball scheduling matrix on Friday, outlining UAB's home and away conference matchups for the upcoming season.
Each school will face six conference opponents both home and away, while playing the remaining six opponents either at home or on the road. Conference play will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2026, and run through Sunday, March 7, 2027.
The Blazers will host North Texas, Tulane and UTSA, while traveling to Wichita State, South Florida and Rice. UAB went a perfect 9-0 in conference road games during the 2025-26 season and finished 10-2 overall on the road.
Since Andy Kennedy took over the program ahead of the 2020-21 season, UAB has collected 145 victories, the 16th-most wins in the country during that span.
UAB will face Memphis, Charlotte, Tulsa, Florida Atlantic, Temple and East Carolina twice during the regular season, once at home and once on the road. The Blazers went 6-4 against those opponents last season, highlighted by a victory at Memphis that marked UAB's first win over the Tigers in Memphis since 1999.
Kennedy and the Blazers reached four consecutive conference championship games before advancing to the quarterfinals last season. During Kennedy's tenure, UAB has captured two conference championships, winning the 2022 Conference USA Tournament and the 2024 American Conference Tournament.
The Blazers return sophomore Salim London, who played nearly 20 minutes per game last season while averaging 4.8 points per game.
The 2027 American Conference Men's Basketball Championship will be held in March at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.
