Bozic Awarded C-USA Offensive Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas -- Ivana Bozic continues to rack up the awards this season. On Monday, the senior volleyball player was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in 2008.
Bozic posted a pair of double-doubles over the weekend as she helped UAB to Conference USA victories over East Carolina and Marshall.
Against the Pirates on Friday, Bozic tallied a match-high 14 kills and added 12 digs as the Blazers earned a 3-0 sweep. In Sunday's contest against the Thundering Herd, she matched her season-high with 21 kills and also led UAB with 17 digs on the way to a 3-1 victory.
For the weekend, Bozic averaged 5.00 kills per set and 4.14 digs per set. The outside hitter also posted a .414 attack percentage. She led a UAB offense that hit .282 and managed kills on 108 of its 175 points (62 percent).
Bozic and the Blazers (22-3, 12-1 C-USA) take their school-record 16-match winning streak on the road this weekend when they travel to Rice and Houston. UAB has three league matches left before the Conference USA Tournament, slated for Nov. 20-23 in Memphis.
Earlier this season, Bozic was named the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 6 and Oct. 20. She also earned the honor once in 2005, giving her four weekly C-USA awards in her career.
Bozic's honor marks the seventh time this season a UAB player has been named one of the league's players of the week. Below is a complete listing of the Blazers' C-USA weekly awards in 2008:
