Former Blazer Roddy White Selected To Pro Bowl

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Atlanta Falcons wide receiver and former UAB Blazer Roddy White has been selected to play in the 2009 Pro Bowl Game in Honolulu, Hawaii.
White was one of four NFC receivers named Tuesday to play in the February 8, 2009 all-star game at Aloha Stadium. Now in his fourth NFL season, White will be making his first appearance in the Pro Bowl.
With two regular season games remaining, White ranks No. 2 in the NFL this season with 1,310 receiving yards. He has 82 receptions with six touchdowns for the Falcons. Last season he finished with 83 receptions for 1,202 yards and touchdowns.
The Charleston, S.C. native finished his UAB career in 2004 when he earned All-America honors for the Blazers after catching 71 passes for 1,452 yards and a school record 14 touchdowns.
White was selected in the first round as the 27th pick, taken by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2005 NFL Draft.
