Webb Leaves His Mark On Record Books

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Having played his final game at UAB, quarterback Joe Webb has left his name etched in the UAB record book, as well as on the Conference USA and NCAA charts.
Here are some of Webb's accomplishments, milestones reached and statistics from the 2009 season and during his UAB career.
** Webb became the first player in NCAA history to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 in back-to-back seasons (Missouri's Brad Smith achieved the 2,000/1,000 feat twice but not in consecutive seasons)
** The nation's top rushing quarterback in 2009, Webb finished the season with 1,427 yards on the ground, the third-highest single-season total for a QB in NCAA history
** Currently ranks No. 5 in the country in total offense (310.5), No. 12 in rushing (118.9) and No. 12 in pass efficiency (150.7)
** One of only three players in the nation in 2009 to rush for a TD, pass for a TD and record a TD reception in the same game
** Rushed for more than 100 yards in eight games during 2009 season
** The nation's leader in 2009 for runs of 10 yards or more with 53
** Webb's career rushing total of 2,774 yards is No. 17 all-time on the NCAA charts for rushing by a quarterback
** Shattered his own Conference USA season record for rushing yards by a quarterback with his 1,427 total in 2009
** Owns 5 of top 7 C-USA single-game rushing marks for a quarterback
** Ranks No. 15 in C-USA history for rushing yards
** Holds UAB record for rushing yards in a season and is No. 2 for career rushing yards
** Only player in UAB history to run for more than 1,000 yards in a season twice (2008 and 2009)
** Holds Blazers' record for most single-season rushing touchdowns, twice scoring 11 (2008 and 2009)
** His career passing and rushing totals: 5,771 passing yards and 37 TD passes/2,774 rushing yards and 24 rushing TDs
** Accounted for 8,545 yards of offense and 61 touchdowns in career
** Finished No. 3 all-time at UAB in passing yardage
** Tied the UAB career completion record of 59.1 percent (tied with John Whitcomb)
** In his 25 career UAB starts at quarterback, Webb had 2,453 rushing yards, an average of 98.1 yards per game
** In 2007 when playing primarily at wide receiver, Webb was second on the team in receptions (30) and receiving yardage (459) while averaging 15.3 per catch. He also had three TD receptions
