BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The men's basketball game this Saturday between 24th-ranked UAB and Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas will be televised by RSN (Razorbacks Sports Network) and will be carried locally in the Birmingham market on ABC 33/40. The contest in Fayetteville, Ark. is set for an 11 a.m. CT tipoff.
The Blazers cracked Associated Press Top-25 poll this week on the strength of an 11-1 start to the 2009-10 campaign, and have now won 10-straight contests heading into Wednesday's matchup at Virginia (7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT). UAB has defeated teams such as Georgia (72-56 on Nov. 21), then-No. 25 Cincinnati (64-47 on Dec. 16) and then-No. 16 Butler (67-57 on Dec. 22) on the season.
Arkansas is also on a streak, having won five straight contests entering this week to improve to 7-5 on the year. The Razorbacks will face Baylor on Wednesday night (7 p.m. CT) in Little Rock, Ark. prior to meeting the Blazers on Saturday.
The Blazers and Razorbacks will meet for the third time in series history, but it will be the first time the two teams have met on the hardwood since Jan. 30, 1991. Arkansas won the only two previous contests.
