BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB football team ran through an abbreviated practice session Tuesday morning as heavy rains cut the Blazers' workout short.
The team practiced for about 30 minutes on the turf field at Birmingham-Southern because of wet conditions at the UAB practice facility.
"We didn't get done all that we wanted to, but we did what we could," UAB head coach Neil Callaway said. "It was good to get out there for 30 minutes, and we'll go back out tomorrow and go to work."
The Blazers are preparing for Saturday's "Battle for the Bones" rivalry game against Memphis. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT at Legion Field in UAB's final home game of the 2010 season.
Saturday's game will be carried live on the Blazer Sports Network, airing locally on 107.7 WUHT-FM. David Crane, John Whitcomb and Otis Leverette will call the action with the pregame show beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT.
