BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB football team returned to the practice field on Wednesday as the Blazers continued their preparations for this Saturday's Homecoming Game against Marshall.
The contest against the Thundering Herd will kick off at 3:06 p.m. at Legion Field and will be televised regionally by CSS (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast).
The game will also be carried live on the Blazer Sports Network, airing locally on 107.7 WUHT-FM with the pregame show beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT.
The Blazers (3-5, 2-2 Conference USA) worked out for just shy of two hours on the turf at Birmingham-Southern College.
"I thought it (practice) was okay today," UAB head coach Neil Callaway said of Wednesday's workout. "We're still working on polishing up some things on Marshall. The intensity and effort was good."
The Blazers are coming off a 50-49 double-overtime victory over Southern Miss last Saturday in Hattiesburg. UAB again was able to balance its success on offense both through the air and on the ground. The Blazers finished with 241 passing yards and 223 rushing against the Golden Eagles.
"When we execute what we're trying to do, I think we can be a good offensive football team," Callaway said. "We've done it the last few games, but we have four more games starting with the big ballgame Saturday against Marshall (2-6. 1-3 C-USA). We can't just assume it's going to happen. We have to work hard to make sure it happens."
