Robert Williams Selected As Student Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Robert Williams, a redshirt sophomore guard for the Blazer men's basketball team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week.
Williams comes into Wednesday's Middle Tennessee contest averaging 3.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Over the past two contests, he has raised those numbers to 6.5 points and 5.0 rebounds, including coming off a season-best seven points and four boards at Kent State last Saturday night.
In the classroom, the Greenville, Miss., product carries a 3.08 GPA as a communications major with a concentration in broadcasting. He is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was awarded the Conference USA Spirit of Service Award last winter, which is designed to recognize the efforts of the league's student-athletes, based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport.
Williams and the men's basketball team will next play host to Middle Tennessee on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. CT at Bartow Arena.
