WAHIAWA, Hawaii. -- The UAB women's golf team fired a tournament-low 300 (+12) Thursday in the final round of The Rainbow Wahine Invitational at Leilehua Golf Course.
The Blazers finished in 10th place in the 14-team field, carding a 50-over (915) to finish eight strokes ahead of 11th place Old Dominion (+58, 922). BYU won the tournament, finishing at 1-under (847), 23 strokes ahead of Hawaii and New Mexico State.
Sydney Snodgrass led the Blazers throughout the event, propelled by two opening rounds of level-par 72. In the final round, the sophomore carded two birdies to post a 2-over (74). Snodgrass finished the event 2-over (218) to sit in 5th place to mark her best finish of the season and her second consecutive top-20 finish.
Kayla Wilbourn went bogey-free on the back nine to post a 74 (+2) in the final round, finishing at 232 (+16) to tie for 40th. Juliana Sebastian finished in 55th place with a 236 (+20) after recording her lowest score of the week, shooting a 75 (+3) on Thursday.
Rebecca Chandler posted another round of 78 (+6) in Thursday's round and tied for 52nd at 235 (+19). Imy Huxley improved each day of competition, shooting a 78 (+6) on day three and finished in a tie for 60th.
Rose Huang of BYU took home medalist honors with an overall score of 5-under (211).
The Blazers return to the course for the final fall event on Nov. 2-3 at the UAB Fall Beach Blast in Gulf Shores, Ala.
