BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men’s basketball team puts the finishing touches on its November home schedule Sunday at 4 p.m. when the Blazers host Jacksonville State from Bartow Arena.
The game will be broadcast live on American Sports Network (ASN) with Dave Armstrong handling the play-by-play duties and Tim Scarborough serving as the color analyst.
Blazer fans can also listen live to David Crane, “The Voice of the Blazers,” and Steve Mitchell on the flagship station for UAB men’s basketball, WZRR-FM 99.5 Nash Icon.
UAB (2-1) enters play following a 79-63 victory Thursday at Troy to improve its all-time record against the Trojans to 8-0. Sophomore Lewis Sullivan scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed a career-best nine rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench. Sullivan was 6-for-7 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free throw line to become the first Blazer since Chad Frazier in 2013 with 10 free throws in a game.
Robert Brown added 18 points and Nick Norton tallied a career-high 10 assists. Norton is first on the team with 5.0 assists per game, and UAB paces Conference USA with 19.3 helpers per game.
Sophomore Chris Cokley, who is the reigning Conference USA Player of the Week, leads UAB in scoring (14.3 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg).
Jacksonville State lost its most recent game, falling 80-69 Friday at Winthrop to drop to 2-3 overall. The Gamecocks are 0-3 on the road thus far this season and have lost 13 straight away from home dating back to last season.
Sophomore guard Malcolm Drumwright leads the Gamecocks with 14.8 points and 5.2 assists per game. Freshman forward Jared Hamilton stands third on the team with 10.6 points per game and first with 6.4 rebounds per game.
UAB is a perfect 5-0 in the all-time series with Jacksonville State and has beaten the Gamecocks by an average of 19.8 points per game. Additionally, the Blazers have won eight of the last nine against schools from the Ohio Valley Conference.
Following the game, UAB players will sign autographs for fans inside the concourse near the main entrance to Bartow Arena.

The Conference USA Men's and Women's Basketball Championship is set to return to Birmingham for the second consecutive year, marking the third time the Blazers will host the event. The men's tournament, as well as the women's semifinals and championship, will be played at Legacy Arena in downtown Birmingham, while the women's first round and quarterfinal action will take place at UAB's Bartow Arena.
