Haley Jared Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB volleyball outside hitter Haley Jared was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Friday.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Haley’s academic accomplishments. She is extremely dedicated to the hard work and time it takes to be successful in the classroom and it’s great to see her being recognized for those efforts,” head coach Kerry Messersmith said. “Her determination and emphasis on doing well in the classroom is what being a student-athlete is all about.”
Jared has maintained one of the top GPAs on the squad with a 3.90 mark as an electrical engineering major and this is her second time being named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.
The Hartselle, Ala., native saw action in all 30 of the Blazers’ matches this season, appearing in 105 sets. She was a force to be reckoned with 287 kills, 39 blocks and 108 digs.
Jared recorded the second double-double of her career this season, totaling 11 kills and 14 digs against UTEP.
The junior set single-game career highs in total attempts (46), attack percentage (.375) and total blocks (5) this season.
