PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The UAB women's golf team wrapped up its third tournament of the fall season with a ninth place finish at the Jacksonville Classic.
"It was a windy day and the course played tough," head coach Kim Wilcox said. " I am disappointed with the results but we will rebound and be ready to play at Pinehurst next week."
Maria Donado led the Blazers for the third consecutive tournament and finished in a tie for 22nd. Donado carded a final round 77 (+5) after opening with a 78 and 74 in the first and second rounds respectively.
Kenna Hughes closed the tournament with a 79 and tied for 25th overall.
After starting the tournament strong, Sydney Snodgrass dropped a few strokes in the final round and tied for 29th.
Imy Huxley and Kayla Wilbourn tied for 43rd after rounds of 80 and 78, respectively, in the final round.
Host Jacksonville remained in the top spot after a closing round 296 (+8) to finish nine strokes ahead of second place Seminole State Florida.
Michelle Forsland and Amanda Detmer of Jacksonville both finished the tournament at one-under to split the individual title.
