Blazers Wrap Up Record Breaking Tournament in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. – The UAB women's golf team shot a school record 877 at the USA Intercollegiate en rote to a third place finish.
"I am so happy with the team's play," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "We finished in the same place as last year but shaved nine strokes off our team score. The team encouraged each other which was awesome. We are excited for the Jacksonville State event next weekend."
Maria Donado paced the Blazers throughout the tournament as she carded rounds of 69, 70 and 74 (-3) and tied for third overall. Donado's 213 three-day score ties teammate Sydney Snodgrass for the lowest individual 54-hole score in program history.
Juliana Sebastian shot a 78 in the final round to wrap up an impressive tournament and finished tied for 20th.
Snodgrass was one stroke off of Sebastian on the leaderboard after a final round 77 and tied for 23rd overall.
Kenna Hughes had the round of the day for the Blazers with a 71(-1) on her final 18 and jumped eight spots up the leaderboard to finish 30th overall for the event.
Imy Huxley answered her 73 from day two with a final round 75 to finish tied for 37th in the tournament.
Tulane jumped up one spot on the final day to win the tournament at seven-under par with a team score of 857. Eva Martinez of Lamar won the individual competition by five strokes with a nine-under 207.
UAB returns to the links for the Chris Banister Golf Classic set for Sept. 24-26 at the Robert Trent Jones Silver Lakes Course in Gadsden, Ala.
