Blazers Finish Tied for Fourth at Chris Banister Golf Classic

GLENCOE, Ala. – The UAB women's golf team finished tied with Tennessee Tech in fourth place at the Chris Banister Golf Classic.
"We are a much better team than we played this week," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "Sydney came back today with a good score. We have to work hard to get better."
Maria Donado was the Blazers' leader in the clubhouse as she notched her second consecutive top-10 finish. Rounds of 77, 74 and 79 saw her finished tied for 10th.
Sydney Snodgrass rebounded on the final day with a closing round of one-over par 73. She jumped nine spots up the leaderboard and finished tied for 12th.
Kenna Hughes and Imy Huxley both repeated their second round scores and finished tied for 17th and tied for 26th respectively.
After a strong second day, Juliana Sebastian carded an 84 in the final round and finished 35th overall.
Murray State raced through the field maintaining the top-spot wire to wire. The Racers defeated host, Jacksonville State, by 10 strokes.
Valentina Giraldo took home individual honors after firing rounds of 76, 68 and 69 to finish three-under par for the event. Giraldo defeated Chanelle Avaricio of Alabama State who set the tournament record with a 65 in the first round.
UAB continues its fall season with a trip to Jacksonville, Fla., to compete in the Jacksonville Classic scheduled Oct 2-3. The tournament will take place at the Marsch Landing Country Club.
