BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's basketball team received good news on Tuesday afternoon as transfer Jeremiah Bell was granted immediate eligibility to play for the Blazers, head coach Robert Ehsan announced.
Bell, who was set to sit out the season after transferring from the University of Milwaukee, will now be able to suit up for the Green and Gold as soon as Tuesday night's season opener against Mercer in Bartow Arena.
"We are all extremely happy that Jeremiah has been granted eligibility to begin playing with us this season," Ehsan said. "He has been a great teammate in practice and has driven his fellow teammates to continue to get better each day. I am really looking forward to getting to use him moving forward, as his leadership and presence on the court will be invaluable for our team."
The Louisville, Kentucky, native propelled the Panthers' offense in 2017-18 from behind the arc by leading his team in 3-pointers made (75) and 3-point field goal percentage (38.3).
He finished out the 2017-18 season with 23 starts, making appearances in 32 of the Panthers' 33 games, while averaging 14.1 points per game en route to earning All-Horizon League Second Team honors.
