Blazers Improve On Day Two of John Kirk

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – The UAB women's golf team improved four strokes on the second day of the John Kirk Panther Invitational with a 320 in the second round.
"Maria continues to play well and lead the team," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "Despite the cold weather the team score was a bit better. I am looking for more improvement tomorrow."
Maria Donado once again was the Blazers' leader in the clubhouse improving her day one 75 (+3). The junior picked up birdies on holes one, two and 18 to card a two-over 74.
Kenna Hughes made the team's biggest jump improving 10 strokes from the opening 18. A 79 (+7) in the second round jumped her six spots up the leaderboard and as she is tied for 75th going into the final 18 holes.
Sydney Snodgrass is tied for 40th with an 82 (+10) in the second round. Juliana Sebastian and Stephenie Fowler rounded out the UAB lineup with rounds of 85 and 90, respectively.
Jacksonville leads the field sitting with a four-stroke lead over Murray State going into the final weekend.
The final round concludes on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start set for 8 a.m. CT. UAB is paired with Florida Gulf Coast and James Madison.
