STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – A final round 309 on the closing 18 holes allowed the UAB women's golf team to move two spots up the leaderboard and finish in 12th place at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
"They played better as a team," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "Maria had a good tournament finishing in the top-10. This was a decent finish for us in our final event before the conference tournament."
Maria Donado picked up her fourth top-10 finish of the season after a closing round 75 (+3). After making the turn at nine one-under and three strokes off the lead, Donado bogeyed four of her final nine holes to finish in a tie for eighth.
Sydney Snodgrass moved seven spots up the leaderboard after a closing round 77 (+5). The senior finished tied for 33rd.
Kenna Hughes also made a big jump up the leaderboard moving up nine spots. Hughes birdied two of her final six holes to shoot a 78 (+6) and finished tied for 66th.
Juliana Sebastian shot a final round 79 and finished 77th, while Stephenie Fowler closed the tournament with an 84 and finished tied for 86th.
Jacksonville took home team honors as it shot the second lowest 54-hole team score in the tournament's 25-year history with an 882 (+18).
The Blazers return to the course April 16-18 with a trip to Fort Myers, Fla., to compete in the Conference USA Tournament Championships at the Verandah Club.
