BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB women's golf team sets its sights on postseason play this week as it opens competition in the Conference USA Tournament at the Verandah Club, Monday through Wednesday, in Fort Myers, Fla.
Sydney Snodgrass enters the week hoping for a repeat of last year's tournament as she fired a 69 (-3) in the second round en route to finishing tied for fourth place and being named to the All-Tournament team.
Maria Donado has been the most consistent Blazer in the lineup, as she has been UAB's low medalist in seven of nine events this season. The junior leads the team in stroke average with a 75.2 mark and was named C-USA Golfer of the Week after her 14th-place finish at UAB's 'Bama Beach Bash.
Kenna Hughes wraps up her sophomore season where she was in the Blazers' starting lineup in all nine events and added two top-25 finishes to go along with a 77.6 stroke average to her resume.
Juliana Sebastian and Kayla Wilbourn will also compete in their final events as Blazers this week. Sebastian carries a 78.7 stroke average over 95 career rounds, while Wilbourn cards a 79.9 average this season through 14 rounds played. Both golfers have been named C-USA Golfers of the Week in their four years and Wilbourn has an individual title underneath her belt.
The 54-hole championship begins Monday, with 18 holes slated for each day. UAB tees off in the tournament at 7 a.m. CT.
