Sebastian Paces Blazers on Day One of UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The UAB women's golf team sits in 16th place after the opening two rounds of the UNF Collegiate held Monday at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
"We played well as a team in the first round," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "Maria and Sydney struggled but Juliana had a nice round. I am looking forward to more improvement tomorrow."
Juliana Sebastian paced the Blazers with rounds of 74 (+2) and 77 (+5) to sit in a tie for 34th place. The senior picked up four birdies on the day with three coming in the first round.
Kayla Wilbourn is tied for 64th after turning in rounds of 80 (+8) and 78 (+6). Sydney Snodgrass and Kenna Hughes are both tied for 69th as Snodgrass shot 83 (+11) 76 (+4) and Hughes carded 81 (+9) and 78 (+6). Maria Donado rounded out the UAB lineup with rounds of 81 (+9) and 80 (+8) and is tied for 76th.
Old Dominion leads the field by nine strokes as the Monarchs shot 282 and 289 and sit at an outstanding five under par going into the final round.
Jiwon Jeon of Daytona State leads the individual tournament after firing a 66 (-6) in the first round of 69 (-3) in the second.
The closing 18 holes is set for Tuesday morning. The Blazers are paired with Cincinnati and five individuals.
