Blazers fall to No. 10 South Carolina and No. 12 Stetson

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The UAB beach volleyball team lost a pair of matches to No. 10 South Carolina and No. 12 Stetson on the opening day of the Gamecock Grand Slam Saturday in Columbia.
The Blazers (7-7, 1-6 CCSA) opened the day with a 4-1 defeat to Stetson and then fell 5-0 to South Carolina.
The win for UAB in the Stetson match came on court three as Jayme Bratsberg and Annie Pringle notched a three-set victory over Ana Costa and Rachel Noble 21-16, 19-21, 15-12. All four other courts were straight set victories for Stetson, as were all five for South Carolina in the afternoon match.
The Blazers are back in action on Sunday with games against Eastern Kentucky and No. 18 Georgia State. Click here for live results.
