Men’s Tennis Set for Conference USA Championship

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team heads north to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to take part in the Air Force Reserve Conference USA Championship, beginning Friday on the campus of Middle Tennessee.
The Blazers (8-12, 1-4 C-USA) face off against No. 1 seed Florida Atlantic (17-9, 3-1 C-USA) at 10 a.m. on Friday. The two teams previously met on March 16, with the Owls winning the match, 6-1.
Freshman Michal Lusovsky leads the Blazers in singles victories with 11, including holding a 7-0 record in the No. 4 position. Tom el Safadi trails Lusovsky, having won eight singles matches on the campaign.
Lusovsky has also been a part of 11 doubles victories along with teammate Roman Postolka, with all matches being played in the No. 1 position.
The winner of Friday's match will advance to play the winner of No. 4 seed Charlotte and No. 5 seed Rice at noon on Saturday.
