UAB Opens Spring Season at Lady Bulldog Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Women's golf team is set to kick off the spring season at the Lady Bulldog Invitational hosted by Georgia in at the UGA Golf Course in Athens, Ga. this weekend.

The 36-hole event on Saturday and Sunday will be an individual event with no team score recorded.

Along with UAB, the nine-team field includes golfers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Wake Forest and Western Kentucky.

The Blazers will field a lineup of Emilia Smith, Erika Allen, Karlee Allen and Marilyn Steed.

This is UAB's fifth tournament of the season. The Blazers concluded the fall slate with a season-best fifth-place finish at the FAU Jupiter Invitational. Smith led UAB with a team season best 12th-place individual finish in the tournament.
