UAB MBB Cruises to 110-53 Win Over Rhodes

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Men's Basketball (5-1) cruised to a 110-53 victory over Rhodes College on Saturday afternoon at Bartow Arena. Five blazers finished with over 14 points to lead the high-scoring attack. Trey Jemison scored a career-high 17 points
The Blazers took control early with a 24-0 run to jump out to a 33-8 lead with over 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Efrem Johnson led all scorers in the first half with 11 points while going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field. The UAB run was punctuated by a pair of Tony Toney dunks on fast breaks.
UAB led 63-24 at the break, an identical score as the meeting between the two teams a year ago.
The Blazers' dominance continued in the second half. Ty Brewer scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half while shooting 6-for-7 from the field. He was automatic from midrange, knocking down five jumpers in the second half.
Trey Jemison threw down a pair of forceful dunks on back-to-back possessions early in the second half before he wrapped up his day with a career-high 17 points.
The UAB lead extended to 57 points at 110-53 as Seth Sigmon collected his first bucket as a Blazer in the final minute with Jon Coleman getting the assist.

The Blazers will face off with Jacksonville (3-1) on Wednesday, November 30 in Bartow Arena.
