BIRMINGHAM – UAB Men's Basketball (5-1) cruised to a 110-53 victory over Rhodes College on Saturday afternoon at Bartow Arena. Five blazers finished with over 14 points to lead the high-scoring attack. Trey Jemison scored a career-high 17 points

The Blazers took control early with a 24-0 run to jump out to a 33-8 lead with over 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Efrem Johnson led all scorers in the first half with 11 points while going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field. The UAB run was punctuated by a pair of Tony Toney dunks on fast breaks.

UAB led 63-24 at the break, an identical score as the meeting between the two teams a year ago.

The Blazers' dominance continued in the second half. Ty Brewer scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half while shooting 6-for-7 from the field. He was automatic from midrange, knocking down five jumpers in the second half.

Trey Jemison threw down a pair of forceful dunks on back-to-back possessions early in the second half before he wrapped up his day with a career-high 17 points.

The UAB lead extended to 57 points at 110-53 as Seth Sigmon collected his first bucket as a Blazer in the final minute with Jon Coleman getting the assist.

The Blazers' bench scored 68 of UAB's 110 points.
UAB's 63 points in the first half are tied for the most points in a half during the Andy Kennedy era.
As a team, UAB shot a season-high 63.2 percent from the field, the highest percentage of the Kennedy era.
The Blazers finished with 27 assists, the most of the Andy Kennedy era, surpassing the previous high of 25 set in the last home game vs. Presbyterian.
Tyler Bertram picked up his first points as a Blazers, finishing with 17 points while shooting 4-for-8 from the field.
Trey Jemison scored a career-high 17 points in the contest on 7-of-8 shooting.
Ty Brewer finished with 16 points, his highest total as a Blazer.
Efrem Johnson's 14 points mark his first game in double figures.
