Blazers Have Two Top Ten Finishes in Foothills Invitational

OXFORD – The UAB Cross Country team started out on a high note with a fourth-place finish in the Foothills Invitational at Choccolocco Park.
"It was exciting to see the newcomers mix with the returners and work really well together throughout the race. They got themselves into a good position from the beginning." said Head Coach Maryn Lowry on the results of the race.
Two Blazers finished within the top 10, with freshman Kyra Hayes finishing sixth with a time of 14:36.19. Lauren Robinson followed in seventh with a time of 14:40.22. A total of six runners donning the Green and Gold finished in the top 50 at the meet. All Blazers finished in the top 100.
"Kyra Hayes and Lauren Robinson worked together up front and led our team with two top ten finishes. They all competed well and now we can move forward with the season having learned what we need to improve upon for the next race." said Coach Lowry.
