UAB Men’s Soccer Falls Just Short at Home Against No. 5/7 Wake Forest

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Men's Soccer battled late into the game against No. 5/7 Wake Forest, but the Blazers (2-1-0) ultimately fell 2-0 on Saturday night at PNC Field. Wake Forest (3-0-0) scored two goals late in the second half to secure the win on the road.
The Demon Deacons put pressure on the Blazers' back line early. Wake Forest pressured Jack Hudson but they could not put many shots on goal. In the second half, the visitors put together a pair of chances, but Jack Hudson made two saves to keep the game scoreless.
The Blazers conceded their first goal of the season in the 68th minute as a left-footed strike from Leo Guarino found the back of the net to make it 1-0 for Wake Forest.
Wake Forest added a second goal in the 75th minute on a penalty kick. The Blazers created a few quality chances in the second half, but they could not put the ball on the net.
