Cross Country Prepares for NCAA South Regional

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Cross Country travels to Gainesville, Florida competing in the NCAA South Regional Cross Country Championships. The Blazers will be hitting the course on Friday, November 10 at 8:30 a.m. at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
The Green and Gold came off the AAC Cross Country Championships, finishing 14th. This week, the Blazers are one of over 30 teams competing in the Women's 6K on Friday morning. The Blazers will join Florida Atlantic as two AAC teams represented.
Freshman Katie Keur finished in the top 50 athletes to cross the finish line. Keur finished with a personal best of 22:12.3 in the first 6K of her career. She and sophomore Kyra Hayes finished not too far behind with a 22:19 finish.
Both Keur and Hayes will compete in the South regional, in addition to Anna Behmer, Sangie Lincoln-Velez, Lidia Longo, and Ava Brooks. The Blazers bring a young squad to Florida, with senior Gracie Sears and junior Kathleen Schellman rounding out the pack as the eldest on the team.
The NCAA South Regional Cross Country Championships will be streamed and timed online. Live results for the 2023 South Regional will be broadcasted here. The race will be streamed live on YouTube starting at 8:30 a.m.
