Andraka Becomes Career Wins Leader as Blazers Sweep UAB Beach Classic

BIRMINGHAM – Senior Emma Andraka became UAB's career wins leader as she and the Blazers went 2-0 on Saturday to conclude the UAB Beach Classic.
Andraka's first win of the day set the school record with her 53rd career victory, passing Tressa Buckland who registered with 52 wins during her career from 2016-2019.
Andraka won both of her matches today to notch her 53rd and 54th career victories.
The Blazers (13-10) defeated ULM in their first match of the day by the score of 4-1, and then blanked Jacksonville State 5-0 in the final match of the weekend. UAB finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 overall record.
Arden Copping and Mikayla Law-Heese on Court 1, Andraka and Jessica Ennis on Courts 3-4 and the freshmen duo of Olivia Stant and Olivia Chychrun all had a perfect 4-0 weekend. Brooke Pertuit and Jasmine went 3-1 on Court 2 and now have a team-best 14-9 record.
UAB heads to the GSU Digging Duals next weekend in Atlanta where the Blazers will face South Carolina, UT Martin, Stetson and Georgia State.
