UAB Blazers Defeat Louisiana Tech on Sunday

RUSTON, La. – Carson Myers' strong outing helped drive UAB (15-31, 6-18) to defeat Louisiana Tech (24-25, 13-11) by a score of 6-1 on Sunday, May 7 at J.C. Love Field.
After three scoreless innings, Christian Hall went opposite field for his sixth home run of the year to put UAB on the board first. The Blazers plated three runs in the seventh and two in the eighth while Myers held La Tech scoreless through six innings before the Bulldogs scored their only run in the seventh.
Myers (2-5) started on the mound for the Blazers and received the win after he allowed no runs on three hits with two walks and tied his season-high strikeouts with seven. John Luke Marlin (3) picked up the save after he entered the game in the seventh and allowed one run on one hit with a season-high in strikeouts (5).
Offensively for UAB, Hall (3-for-5) collected his 10th multi-hit game after hitting a home run and two singles while also scoring two of the Blazers' runs and one RBI. Six other Blazers collected a hit on the day which led UAB to out hit the Bulldogs 9-4.

The Blazers will travel to Montgomery, Ala. for a mid-week matchup against in-state foes Alabama State on Tuesday, May 9. First pitch is set for 6 P.M.
