BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Women's Soccer team (2-2-0) beings its two-match Texas roadtrip on Aug. 31 when it visits TCU. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
UAB LATELY
Carlyn Presley scored in the 19th and 87th minutes to lead UAB to a 3-0 shutout of Jacksonville State on Aug. 27. For her efforts, Presley was named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll.
TCU LATELY
The Horned Frogs (1-2-0) received votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll. TCU has dropped two straight matches – 2-0 to No. 6 Florida State Aug. 20 and 1-0 to No. 8 Penn State Aug. 27.
THE SERIES VS. TCU
Thursday marks the sixth meeting between the two schools. UAB leads the series 4-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in Fort Worth. The first four matchups, held from 2001-2004, were when both schools were members of Conference USA.
LAST TIME AGAINST TCU
TCU scored in the 25th and 64th minutes to spoil UAB's home opener at the former BBVA Field 2-0 on Aug. 25, 2019. Blazers' keeper Johanna Popp faced 17 shots and turned back six of those, while facing eight corner kicks.
A pair of current Blazers played in that contest. Morgan Halliwill and Asha Zuniga both came off the bench.
TCU's Gracie Brain also played in that match, scoring the insurance goal.
