CLEMSON, S.C. – Trinity Fellows tallied a top five finish in the pole vault to highlight UAB's efforts at the Bob Pollock Invitational this weekend hosted by Clemson.
Fellows tied for fourth overall with a clearing height of 11-11¾ for UAB's only top five finish of the event. Fellows currently ranks 10th in the American with her best height of 12-0 this season.
Freshman Gabby Washington notched a top 20 finish in the 400 meters, running a 56.37 to place her 19th overall. Her time is now the eighth fastest in the American this season. She was also UAB's top finisher in the 200m with a time of 24.86.
In the 800m, Alicia Abalos Cervera ran a 2:17.27 which placed her 23rd and she is now just outside the top 20 in the American standings.
The Blazers have one more meet at the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt (Feb. 9-10) before hosting the American Athletic Conference Championship at the Birmingham Crossplex Feb. 23-24.
