UAB Ties for Fourth at Everett Buick GMC Classic

BIRMINGHAM – Highlighted by shooting the team low score in rounds one and three, the UAB men's golf team tied for fourth at the Everett Buick GMC Classic at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark.
The Blazers shot three under as a team by going 283-301-277 = 861 (-3).
Sophomore Morgan Slaton continued his stellar play by tying for eighth place overall at -6. Slaton went 69-74-67 = 210 to notch his second top 10 finish of the season.
Senior Paul Bruce also had a standout tournament by placing 10th overall. Bruce (70-77-65 = 212) shot up the leaderboard with a final round 65 (-7) and finished -4 overall. Bruce now has rounds of 64 and 65 to his credit this season.
Freshman Jonathan Ericsson (72-77-73 = 222, +6) was UAB's third finisher in a tie for 38th, while sophomore Will Stelt (72-73-78 = 223, +7) tied for 41st. Freshman Bernhard Koster (77-79-72 = 228, +12) rounded out the UAB lineup in a tie for 66th.
Little Rock won the tournament at -26 overall, while Jake Springer of Troy won the individual title by one stroke, finishing at -12.
The Blazers went 11-3-1 this week and now have an overall record of 23-18-3 this fall.
