UAB Baseball's Quick Start Not Enough to Beat SLU

SLU totaled eight errors to only four for UAB over the series. Today UAB started off with a bang scoring six 1st inning runs on six hits and one error. Tyler Harrington and Brayton Brown homered in back to back at bats to score four runs. Gavin Lewis Jr. then singled to shortstop in his first action of the year. That hit scored Alan Choo. An RBI groundout to short stop then scored Peyton Puckett for the 6th run of the inning.
Colin Daniel started on the mound for the Blazers and shut out SLU until the 6th inning. In the 6th the Lions scored three runs on two home runs. A third and fourth home run were given up by the Blazers in the 7th inning.
SLU went on to score seven more runs in the 8th inning after not scoring any until the 6th. In the 8th SLU scored those seven runs on five hits, including two doubles.
The Blazers were unable to muster up any runs after the third inning. UAB only hit the ball one time after the 3rd inning. During that time SLU pitchers totaled three strikeouts and seven flyouts.
The game finished at a score of 14-7.
Next Game:
The Blazers are back in action on Tuesday at Regions Field vs Alabama. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
