Men’s Golf Readies for American Conference Championship

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team opens play at the American Athletic Conference Championship on Friday morning, April 19, at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla. The three-day tournament concludes Sunday with live coverage on ESPN+.
UAB enters the tournament as the 9-seed and the field will play 18 holes each day. The team with the lowest combined score after 54 holes will be crowned AAC Champion.
The Blazers tee off hole 10 on Friday morning at 9:05 a.m. ET/8:05 a.m. CT and are paired with East Carolina and Florida Atlantic.
Head Coach Matt Whall will field a team consisting of Seb Cave, Paul Bruce, Morgan Slaton, John Bruce and Will Stelt with Trace Bracknell serving as the alternate.
Cave leads the Blazers into the tournament and looks to cap a fantastic rookie season by guiding UAB to a conference title. Cave has played in eight events this season with two tournament titles, three top 10 finishes and six top 20 finishes. Cave carries a team-low 71.7 stroke average.
