BIRMINGHAM - UAB Track & Field will return to the Birmingham Crossplex on Friday, February 7 for the UAB Vulcan Invite and Saturday, February 8 for the UAB Green and Gold Invite.
THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers had multiple personal best showings at the Bob Pollock Invite in Clemson. Christiana Mudd has recorded her PR time in the 60m Hurdles in back-to-back meets. Lidia Longo has also recorded her best 1 Mile time in each of the last two meets as well.
THE FIELD
Numerous schools across the Southeast will flock to Birmingham this weekend. Alabama State, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Samford, Southern Miss, and West Georgia will be among the 35 teams participating.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Birthe Franck-Petersen continues to solidify her case as one of the all-time greats in UAB Track & Field history. The senior from Norway holds the top six indoor Shot Put throws in school history, and eight of the top 10. Additionally, she holds three of the top five indoor weight throws.
NEW FACES SHOWING OUT
The Blazers have several newcomers on this year's team, and each have had no problem making an immediate impact. Hope Foster (2x), Noelle Hambrick (2x), Leticia Quingostas, Christiana Mudd, and Victoria Freeland have all recorded appearances in the top 10 in school history in their respective events.
