Blazers Travel to Middle Tennessee for Final Non-Conference Series

MURFREESBORO - UAB (13-4) travels to Murfreesboro to take on Middle Tennessee (10-6) for the final non-conference series of the season. This is the first true road series for the Blazers.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers dropped a late-inning heartbreaker to #17 Alabama at Regions Field on Tuesday night. UAB allowed three runs in the 9th inning and fell to the Tide, 6-3.
SCOUTING THE BLUE RAIDERS
MTSU boasts the second-best team batting average in Conference USA coming into the weekend. The Blue Raiders' probable starting rotation this weekend all have ERAs under 2.86. Drew Horn tossed a no-hitter last Sunday against Oakland, striking out 13 and surrendering two walks. Additionally, the Blue Raiders continue their long stretch of home games to start the season, with 19 of their first 20 games played in the friendly confines of Reese Smith Jr. Field.

Middle Tennessee leads the overall series, 20-13. The Blue Raiders also lead the series in Murfreesboro, 13-3.
TODD CLAY TABBED WITH HONORABLE MENTION HONORS
UAB infielder Todd Clay has earned American Conference Honorable Mention honors after his performances last week. This is the first time Clay has received American Conference honors and the fourth consecutive week a Blazer has been recognized.
Over five games, Clay went 13-for-22 with six RBI, five runs scored, and four walks. The Auburn, Ala. native went 3-for-4 against his hometown team in a 6-5 victory on Wednesday and went 5-for-5 in a 12-7 win over Michigan State on Sunday. Clay's five hits in a game is the most by a Blazer since John Marc Mullins against Alabama A&M on March 5, 2022.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Senior OF Logan Braunschweig has been a force on the bases since his arrival in 2022. The Alabaster, Ala. native has reached base in 45 consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the American Conference.
