Women’s Soccer Faces First Road Test at ETSU

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's soccer hits the road for its first road match of the season at ETSU. Kickoff is set for noon CT and will air live on ESPN+.
SERIES HISTORY
The Blazers lead the all-time series 1-0-0. The last meeting took place in Birmingham, Alabama on August 15, 2024, to open the 2024 season. UAB earned a 1-0 victory.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLAZERS
UAB battled against UCF in the season opener, but ultimately fell short, 2-1. Both Knights goals came in the first half as well as the Blazers lone goal, but the second half went scoreless. UCF outshot UAB 10-7. Freshman Rebecca Sierra scored her first collegiate goal, and it marked the first goal scored for UAB this season. Sierra's goal was assisted by Lauren Lucero.
SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
ETSU earned a 1-0 win at North Alabama to open the 2025 season. Reagan Fitzgerald scored the goal with an assist from Grace Eatz. The Buccaneers outshot UNA 14-4.
NEW FACES
UAB brought in 11 new players for the 2025 season from the high school level and via the transfer portal.
RETURNING PRODUCTION
The Blazers top three goal scores from last season have all returned. Abbey Burns who led the team with seven goals, Jette Zimmer scored four and Sydney Bolinger who had two. Other players that are back on this year's squad that scored one goal are Maia Sirota, Mia Leath, Lola Sommer and Abby Graeser. In total, UAB has 16 letterwinners returning for the season.
