Blazers Fall at Ole Miss 2-1

OXFORD, Miss. – UAB women's soccer (0-2-1) fell 2-1 on the road at Ole Miss (1-1) on Thursday night.
The Rebels were the first score in the 15th minute when Katie Ramsden found the back of the net off a penalty kick. Ava Mills answered back for the Blazers with her first career goal in the 21st minute. Mills' goal was assisted by Maia Sirota which marked her first assist of the season and third career assist.
The rest of the half neither team scored while Ole Miss had 11 shots in the half and UAB had six.
Two minutes into the second half Rebel Evie Ewing hit the back of the goal to put Ole Miss up 2-1 in the 47th minute. The remaining of the half no one was able to score but each team had chances. The Blazers had three shots on goal with two from Jette Zimmer and one from Lailah Stewart.
For the game, Leah Parsons had three saves while the Rebels keeper had five. Each team had double digit shots on the night, but Ole Miss outshot the Green and Gold 21-14.
Up next, the Blazers are back at home to host ULM on Sunday, August 24. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
