Blazers Offense Rolls Past Missouri State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB Softball finished the weekend 2-1 with a 9-5 win over Missouri State, improving to 7-7 overall on the season. The Blazers saw production all throughout the lineup with eight different Blazers recording a hit. Kaily Collett's third career home run got the scoring going for UAB and set the tone offensively early in the game. The home run set up a four-run second inning, backed by RBI singles from Charlee Bennett and Ashlyn Shirah.

After losing its lead in the top of the third inning on four unearned runs, the Blazers responded with a five-run inning. Great base running delivered three of the five runs for the Blazers as UAB continued to excel in the small-ball game.

Tait Davidson went three complete innings without giving up any earned runs. Davidson struck out three Bears.

Abbi Perkins extended her on-base streak to 18 games.
