Men’s Basketball Home Losing Streak Continues

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - The UAB Men's Basketball team (14-9, 5-5 American) dropped another home game to Memphis (11-11, 6-4 American) 90-80 on Thursday night. Chance Westry led the Blazers with 15 points; this is his 17th game this year with double-digit points scored. Daniel Rivera followed him with his second double-double game of this season.
Sincere Parker scored a career high of 40 points and scored the most in Bartow Arena since 2016-17 season.

- Evan Chatman is back in the starting line-up after not starting last week's game against North Texas.
- UAB started their 9th different starting lineup this season. This was the first time using this starting lineup all season (Anderson, Lindsay-Martin, London, Meyer Chatman). Dayjaun Anderson made his third straight start.
- This was the first time this season that Dayjaun Anderson scored the first bucket of the game.
- Both teams combined to start 0-of-9 from three-point range. Memphis made the first three at the 13:28 mark.
- Memphis scored the opening basket in the last five meetings dating back to
- UAB made their first three-point shot for the Blazers made by Chance Westry at the 10:39.
- Memphis scored 33 bench points in the first half for Memphis totaling 59. Sincere Parker scored 40 of those 59 bench points.
- The second highest number of free throws attempts this season in the first half (21). Highest was against UTEP on Nov. 25 (22).
- Salim London scored double digits for the first time since Troy on Dec. 14. This was his second-best scoring performance of the season.

- Just 15% three-points completion in the second half for Blazers.

- 37 three-point shots were the most attempted this season. UAB only led for 36 seconds of the game.
- UAB shot 38% from the field (25-for-66), 24% from three (9-for-37), and 60% from the free-throw line (21-for-35).
- Both teams struggled scoring the basketball in the first few possessions. Dayjaun Anderosn scored the first points of the game on a tip-in at the 18:30 mark [2-0].
- Both teams combined to start 0-of-9 from three-point range, until Memphis hit the first three at the 13:28 mark [7-11].
- Memphis went on an 11-0 run concluded by a Sincere Parker bucket and the free throw [9-22].
- Memphis made five straight three pointers after missing their first three with under nine minutes to go in the first half [17-32].
- KyeRon Lindsay-Martin hit his second ever three-point (first of the season) in his four years of college basketball [22-32].
- UAB got to within five points after Westry scored a fastbreak layup [31-36].

- Dayjaun Anderson waited until the second half to make a three for the third straigh game. He opened the scoring in the second half [38-46].
- Salim London went on an incredible 8-0 scoring run on his own. This put UAB to within five points [46-51].
- A quick 4-0 run on back-to-back possessions put Memphis back up 12 points [47-59].
- Memphis was forced into a timeout just under 12 minutes when Lindsay-Martin scored to make it a three-point game [56-59].
- UAB concluded an 11-0 putting the scoring margin at one [58-59].
- Memphis went on an immediate 8-0 run to once again extend their lead to nine points [61-70].
- UAB back-to-back three-point shots by Robinson and then Meyer [67-74].
- Both teams went on a 7-0 run with UAB finishing the run with just under a minute to play. Daniel Rivera and Jacob Meyer made back-to-back threes after a Memphis turnover [75-83].
- After a few fouls from UAB and a few fastbreak opportunities the final score ended at 90-80.
- Final score: UAB 80, Memphis 90
- UAB is back at Bartow Arena on Sunday, Feb. 8 against Rice. Tipoff against the Owls is set for 2:00 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
