BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB Softball returns to American Conference play this weekend, hosting the Memphis Tigers for three games, set for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The Blazers are coming off their first sweep under Taylor Smartt's staff, winning all three games in Greenville last week against East Carolina. Olivia Cummings led the Blazers through the series with a pair of wins, allowing just two runs and one walk in 10 innings of work. Cummings' series earned her an American Honorable Mention.
UAB continued its winning streak on Tuesday with a Magic City showdown win over Samford, 7-3.
A series win for the Blazers would likely jump UAB into eighth place in the conference and put the Blazers in striking distance of a bye to the quarterfinal of the American Championships.
