BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball head coach Andy Kennedy has announced the addition of transfer forward Jeremy Elyzee from Southeastern Louisiana.
"Great having Jeremy in our program," Kennedy said. "Jeremy is a versatile player who has the length, athleticism, skill and mindset to make an immediate impact next season for Blazer Basketball. The two years of experience at SLU, where he averaged just under 30 minutes per game, has equipped him for the transition to UAB and the American Conference".
Elyzee, a 6-foot-7 forward from Hialeah, Florida, spent two seasons at Southeastern Louisiana, appearing in 58 games and averaging 10.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in nearly 29 minutes per game. He showed steady development from his freshman to sophomore year, improving in assists (26 to 55), blocks (18 to 23), and points (10.7 to 11.1)
As a freshman, Elyzee averaged 5.3 rebounds and scored in double figures 16 times, earning Southland Conference Freshman of the Year honors. In his sophomore campaign, he recorded 20 double-digit scoring games and set a career high of 23 points against New Orleans on March 2. He also posted six games with 15 or more points.
Notably, Elyzee previously recorded a double-double against UAB in 2024 with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Elyzee played his high school basketball at Pembroke Pines Charter High School under coach Dave Roca. He becomes the fifth member of UAB's 2026 signing class, joining high school recruits Jakobi Sharp and Korie Corbett, along with junior college transfers Tim Holliday and Shah Hall.
